haha!

I like the part after 9 seconds! xD I mean no offense to your friend, she obviously has not been producing as long as you have. Not my favourite style, but this works very well when playing a game of bejeweled! haha!

TIMarbury responds:

lmao yea she just started to mess around and sent me some stuff and i made the best of it :P

Perfectly mixed much!?

The mix is superb. I really like it on my audio technica headphones. I also like how you incorporated paino, and trance in your dupstep. Exactly how I would approach it. Very nice! I can tell a LOT of work was put into this. Thanks for taking the time to edit even more!

TIMarbury responds:

idk about a perfect mix xD, but yea i put some time into this. yea this started out as a trance song and i made a bassline and it reminded me of some dubstep i was listening to so it quickly changed into a dubstep song but i wanted to keep the trancy feel i started with. I really liked your dubstep song as well dirty overture, had the trance in there so that song might have had some impact on how i went about making this track so you should feel good about that :).

This is deep!

I really like how you opened it. You have a very nice string pad too I might add! I can't believe I havn't given your music a run through in the past! Your intro is as long as some of my full songs :S But I liked it. This song reminds me of exploring an underwater city for some reason. Keep up the great work!

TIMarbury responds:

haha thanks a lot dude. definitely will be coming up with new submission this summer.

This is your best

I listened to about a dozen of your works, and this one was my favourite. I feel that you put more focus onto the melody in this one than in your other works. The sub-bass kinda overpowers the piano to me however. I use Audio-Technica Cans for mixing and critical listening, but at 1:41 the other synth comes in and it sounds more balanced. I noticed you have put out a lot of stuff here in 2011. I think you could expand your music if you dedicated say an entire month or at least a week or two on just one piece to polish it up to the point where it would really shine!

You could also check out www.fl-underground.com . Its an fl studio forum with links to some really amazing VST's (thats where I found a lot of mine) that can really help with your submissions. Also you might want to consider exploring Fruity Limiter and Maximus if your version of Fl studio has them. They would help keep all your sounds balanced out for you!! :D

I'd like to hear your future works and I think you should continue to explore your music. You've imporved a lot from your first submissions!

(oh and low bass on newgrounds for some reason always has feedback.... if you download the song and lsiten to it, you won't hear it, but something about how newgrounds and flash compresses the music, it creates that annoying feedback :S)

Omega-Ravager responds:

Awesome, thanks for some great advice! It's funny you should mention spending a little more time on my songs, I'm currently working on the demo I put out, I've already put a good 15 hours or so into it and I'm not going to stop working on it till I am totally satisfied with it.

I've only been using FL for about 2.5 months, so most of my songs are experimenting and trying out my techniques, I'm just now feeling confident enough to play my music for my friends and stuff.

Thanks for some really detailed feedback, I need it to improve!

B0UNC3

You SOOO got your melody from B0UNC3 don't even lie... lol, regardless it's still pretty good, I think the trebles overpower however... Like... really quite a lot. Its starting to hurt...

But The idea is good!

nightsurfermusic responds:

Lies. The melody was written by myself, somewhere around 2 in the morning as I recall. I didn't want an overpowering bass, you know? I wanted to make dubstep out of the norm, where it wasn't based completely on wobbles.

tune?

your guitar is very out of tune you do know right?

MushmouthTB responds:

I did indeed know that. :D I can't find my guitar tuner, though I could have used the keyboard to tune it- but I'm being lazy. Astute of you to notice, though. All the same, this is just a demo to make sure I have the song down. Thanks for your comment. ^^

good stuff!!

Sounds like a lot of work went into this. LOTS of tracks going on here! I'm sure you've been working on this for quite a while. Very good. Keep it up!

Halotopic responds:

Yes! It took some time, and i had to fiddle around with the details. But It turned out nicely =)

Thank you!

I NEED answers... please??

Hey, so you've got a pretty massive track here. You should submit your stuff to UKFdubstep!

Anyway, It will KILL me if you keep this a secret... (I may actually cry to death) I must know at LEAST what VST(s) you are using for your wubbies...

I thank you in advance for your response as I see you care about your audience by responding!

oh, and I <3 your work! =D

TheBiocide responds:

Thanks man! I might give that a shot :)

I used Sonalksis Flux Solera, Albino 3, u-he- ACE, Ohmnisphere and Alchemy.
(Kidding, I used Massive, Nexus, and Sylenth :3)

Yeah, I do like to respond to comments. If someone cares enough to write me a review then the least I can do is respond, right? :)

Anyhow, thanks again for your comment, man. And good luck finding the right VST, there's plenty of good ones out there!

Perfection?

The DEPTH of your bass is freakishly HUGE. This is honestly the deepest soundstage I've ever heard on my Audio Technica's. The bass just goes arround from teh front to the back of my head unlike I've ever ehard in Dub Step before, I think you must be using verious degrees of stereo separation to accomplish this on each synth. Very well executed to say the least!

This is one of my favourite dub-step songs of all time. I love the soft piano in there too. Very VERY well done!

dietsnapple135 responds:

Thanks! :D I try to pack in a lot of bass into my stuff. I usually compress my drum kicks to get a lot of bass movement, and this song has a lot of drums going on, so that might contribute to it. I'm glad it sounds good, because I like to get an opinion on as many sound systems as possible so I can learn to mix stuff to be good on any system :D I really appreciate the review ^.^!

Low pass??

I'm currious as to what effects tyou are throwing at it. It sounds like you are adding an LP filter but I can't tell what else you have going on, are you panning the wobbles too?

Very good eitherway. Nice slow mix!

e991e responds:

There is a low pass, high pass, not too much panning in this at all though. My mixer was packed with tons of effects at the end of this.. it was a mess.
try lovephilter preset "twinkle" it can add a nice effect to a background noise if you experiment with it.
